Classic French Cooking: Julia Child-Inspired Recipes for Young Chefs
The first children's cookbook directly inspired by Julia Child's recipes, teaching classic French cooking to young chefs.
WHY THIS COOKBOOK MATTERS
Julia Child transformed American cooking by making French cuisine approachable and joyful. This cookbook extends that mission to the next generation.
It offers children an opportunity to learn authentic cooking techniques, build confidence, and discover that sophisticated food can be both accessible and fun.
ORIGIN STORY
The project began when nine-year-old Adelaide Funk helped Margaret Young prepare Boeuf Bourguignon for a dinner party. Inspired by the experience, Adelaide wanted to cook more Julia Child recipes.
When Margaret searched for a Julia Child cookbook specifically for children, she couldn't find one.
So they created it.
Over the course of a year, Adelaide and Margaret selected iconic recipes and adapted them into clear, engaging, age-appropriate instructions that empower young cooks to tackle real French classics.
