A Young Chef's Guide to Classic French Cooking

The first children's cookbook teaching classic French cooking to young chefs.

WHY THIS COOKBOOK MATTERS

This cookbook offers children an opportunity to learn authentic French cooking techniques, build confidence, and discover that sophisticated food can be both accessible and fun.

ORIGIN STORY

Adelaide Funk & Margaret Young

The project began when nine-year-old Adelaide Funk helped Margaret Young (82-years-old at the time) prepare Boeuf Bourguignon for a dinner party. Inspired by the experience, Adelaide wanted to cook more Julia Child recipes.

When Margaret searched for a Julia Child cookbook specifically for children, she couldn't find one.

Over the course of two years, Adelaide and Margaret selected iconic recipes and adapted them into clear, engaging, age-appropriate instructions that empower young cooks to tackle real French classics.
